Why do we need a consultation, can you provide me with a quote first?
In order to provide you with an accurate quote we need to assess your needs. Telling us, "I need a web site with about 5 pages of content" does not cut it. We need to know who your target audience is, your goals, background, etc... Once your objectives have been outlined we will determine what content, technologies, software and time is needed to create those "5 pages".
What should I bring to the consultation?
It is helpful if you bring a few links of web sites you like. Also, feel free to ask questions. We're here to serve your web site needs.
Would Nicodesigns create mockups to help me to make my decision?
We DO NOT perform speculation work. If you are curious about our design style, please look at our portfolio. Nicodesigns LLC is a professional web site design company. We design web sites that are professional and are experts in what we do. Speculation work is always a poor choice and benefits no one. The client gets "free" poor quality work, and the designer works endless hours without profit, with no guarantee of sale. Why must I sign a web design agreement?
The agreement is set-up to protect both our interests. The agreement guarantees that you receive a quality product, built as ordered, in a timely fashion. As well as, insuring that Nicodesigns remains a family oriented business. We never develop sites that promote adult or pirated materials.
Does Nicodesigns build full-scale interactive Flash sites?
Yes and no. Flash is excellent, but we don't always recommend it. It depends on your target audience. Is your clientele located in an area that mainly uses a dial-up internet connection? Is your business geared towards a more mature age range? How is your physical business location decorated? Is it a sleek professional law office, or a casual gift shop? In those cases, Flash may irritate and annoy your customers and we recommend a more subtle approach.
How long will it take to get my web site online?
It depends on how many design drafts are needed, and if we receive content on time. Our standard time frame is 6 weeks.
I own the photos on my web site, right?
Only if you took the photos yourself. When a site design needs photos, we select stock photography. Although stock photos are "purchased," you do not hold ownership. Photography copyrights always remain with the photographer. The price you pay for a stock photo is actually the licensing fee. The license determines where, what and how frequently the photo may be used. Please check your stock photo license before making reproductions.
Am I required to host my site with Nicodesigns?
No, our hosting service is set-up as a convenience to you. We are willing to work with the hosting service of your choice.
What are organic search results?
A.K.A. Natural Results are developed by search engines through the process of crawling websites. It is possible to optimize a web site and have it appear in a higher position depending on it's content, keywords, and coding. We will do our best to give you optimal organic search results. However, depending on your market, competition and demand, cost-per-click advertising may be needed. Please see our online marketing section.
